Breathing -- the breath of life

Years ago, when you and I first started on this journey of life we were both given the gifts of youth, health and vibrancy. Now in order to continue our well-being it is necessary to keep these ongoing gifts in perfect operating order. Get into the habit of deep breathing exercises daily.

Start with effortless yoga nostril breathing. This type of breathing will help you experience a natural feeling of calmness and tranquility.

  • Start by sitting in a quiet place.
  • Close the right nostril with your right thumb and inhale slowly through the left nostril to the count of eight.
  • Hold your breath to the same count, then exhale slowly and fully.
  • Repeat this six times.
  • Now reverse the process
  • Close the left nostril with your left thumb and inhale through the right nosril slowly and deeply to the count of eight, hold your breath to the same count.
  • Then exhale and repeat.
  • Perform this exercise six times with each nostril and at least three times a week.

Love what your are doing. Realize that yoga nostril breathing in itself will help create a new younger looking you as it brings extra needed oxygen and blood circulation into your eyes, your ears and your brain.  Breathing exercises will also help to invigorate your brain, bring a bright youthful look back into your eyes, and improve your hearing as well.
